Euro Arab Youth Music Forum

 

 Announcement of the call

The Arab Academy of Music (Arab League) and Jeunesses Musicales International, in cooperation with the Cultural Movement of Limassol “Epilogi” and the Jordanian National Music Conservatory announce the call for participants for the "Euro Arab Youth Music Forum”.The forum will take place on 18- 21 April 2011, Amman, Jordan. The deadline for applications is 1 March 2011.

 

 

 

 Summary

Euro-Arab Youth Music Forum is a 4- day project aiming to bring at least forty (40) youth representatives from European and Arab countries, to Cairo. Through dialogue the participants will have the opportunity to discuss the following topics:
- Music as part of Cultural Diplomacy in Arab and EU states
- Music as part of Cultural Policy in Arab and EU states.

- Opportunities and of Employment & Mobility across the Mediterranean
- Youth & Music Creativity
- Youth & Music Industry

The outcome of the Forum will be a Manifesto that will be published and officially distributed to various cultural networks, on behalf of all partner organizations.

The objective of the forum is to establish a network of youth from Arab and European countries.

 

Who can participate?

• Young representatives of: Music NGOs, music departments of universities, colleges and schools of music, and other related music organizations.

• Eminent Young Professional.

• Musicians.

• Young Organizers of Music events.  
   

Participants should be mainly from Egypt, Palestine, Jordan and Tunisia and from European Union. However, other nationalities are encouraged to apply for participation.

                      

                                                               

Application procedure

All applicants are supposed to fill the application form and submit all necessary documents before the deadline, which is 1 March 2011. The application material (filled application form and short biography) shall be sent to email

forum@arabmusicacademy.org.
Applicants will be informed of the result of their application process by 15 March 2011.

Financial responsibilities:

The organizers of the Euro Arab Youth Music Forum will undertake the costs of:

1. Up to 40 selected participants will receive full board accommodation
2. free internal transportation
3. 75% of the flight ticket to Amman and return

They are expected to cover the following: 

1. 25% of the flight ticket
2. Meals and accommodation before and after the project days as mentioned above
3. Costs of accommodation and meals of all additional accompanying persons
4. All personal extras
5. each participant has to have a valid health insurance
6. Visa
